Learning comes to life during Rock Eagle’s Homeschool Days on Oct. 22-23.
Once a year, homeschool families stay overnight to experience the center’s residential environmental education programming. The price of the trip includes lodging, classes and meals.
This fall’s class selection includes a variety of classes that will challenge math, language arts and science skills. Classes have been developed to supplement the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Registration is open to all ages.
Day one will feature classes on lake ecology, canoeing, a “trading post open” as well as closing the night with a hike and campfire. The second day will have a class on ornithology and ends with an independent hike to the Rock Eagle mound before students depart.
The cost is based on age. Those ages 2 and under are free, ages 3 through 7 are $41 a person while 8 and up are $82 a person. Registration and payment is due in full by Friday, Oct. 5. More information on the Homeschool days is available at georgia4h.org/.
