Mrs. Janis Yates, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. The funeral was Wednesday, June 1 at 2 p.m. in Eatonton Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at Eatonton Memorial Park.

Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton H. Yates Sr.; son, Butch Yates; grandchild, Emily Lisa Poole and parents, Herst Kane and Lisa Leonard Kane. 

She loved needle point, crafting and spending time with her family. She was an honorary member of Eatonton Presbyterian Church.

Louise Ammons, 81, of Kingsport, Tenn. died at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Tuesday, April 12, 2016, after a brief illness.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Green, the Rev. Jack P. Weikel and Dr. Wm. Randall Frye officiating.

Louise was born in Eatonton, but had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She played her first tune on the piano around age 5. Not only could she read music and play, she could also play by ear and had relative pitch (perfect pitch). 

She was devoted to her family, her church, her music and her community.

Austin Andrew Christensen, 90, of Greensboro, formerly of Seward, Neb., died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro.

The family will conduct a memorial service and burial at a later date in Nebraska.

Mr. Christensen was born in Omaha, Neb. June 4, 1925 to the late Andre Nils Christensen and Olga Munson Christensen. 

He married Jane Carroll on July 7, 1956 and they had two sons.

Louise Mauldin

A funeral service for Mrs. Louise Thomas Mauldin, 92, were conducted Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Milledgeville, with the Rev. Gary Horton and Dr. Jerry Pickard officiating. Interment followed in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Mauldin is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Mauldin; her mother, Delia Davidson Thomas; her father, John F. Thomas; a grandchild, Cameron C. Mauldin; and two sisters, Laura T. Scott and Gustavia T. Sims. 

She was a native of Columbus and lived in St. Mountain and Chickamauga before moving to Milledgeville, where she spent the past 10 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and cooking, and was a member of the Eastern Star.

Ms. Jacqueline Reid of 257-A Sinclair Marina Road, Milledgeville, departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Augusta at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

The funeral services was 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at Plainview Baptist Church, Plainview Road, Madison, where the Rev. Ferma Cosby is the pastor and officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Jacqueline Reid was born Dec. 18, 1963 in Eatonton to parents Alex and Annie Cora Reid.

Robert Womack, 65, of Eatonton passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

Mr. Womack was born Dec. 13, 1950 to the late Robert Coy Womack and Sarah Ann Tyler Womack. He was preceded in death by his parents.

“Bobby,” as he was known to all who knew him, retired from Denon Digital, where he was a maintenance technician. 

He was a member of Lake Country Baptist Church, and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling.

Ross Allan Parkinson, 80, of Eatonton passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Parkinson was born April 16, 1936 in Hamilton Ontario, to the late Alfred Parkinson and Ruth Margaret Brown Parkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stewart Parkinson.

No services are planned at the present time.

After a long career at Albany International, he retired and enjoyed filling his days with his love of golfing and hunting.

Mrs. Francis Louise Fowler Usry, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

The graveside service was Saturday, May 14 in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Usry was a native of Fulton County and was the daughter of the late Rufus Coleman Fowler and the late Annie Mae Latham Fowler. Mrs. Usry loved to fish and go to yard sales.

She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Juanita Vining, Geneva Herring, Margaret Thompson and Mary Young; as well as her two brothers, James Fowler and Dorsey Fowler.

Mrs. Usry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church

Roger Dellinger

Mr. Roger William Dellinger, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

A memorial service was conducted Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church at Lake Sinclair.

Mr. Dellinger was a native of Columbus, Ohio and had lived on Lake Sinclair for the past 20 years. He moved to the area from Atlanta. 

He had worked in defense for Bendix and was working with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church at Lake Sinclair.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Stocker Dellinger; a son, Blaine Dellinger of Ohio; a sister, Sally Dellinger of Ohio; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Friendship Baptist Church at Lake Sinclair.

Mrs. Rosy Mary (Jenny) Davis Ellison, daughter of the late Lucious and Lillie Ruth Davis, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home at 109 Pine Ridge Way.

The funeral service was Saturday, May 7 at Free Gift Primitive Baptist Church, 280 Scuffleboro Road, Eatonton with the Rev. W.J. Reid officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was born in Eatonton on Sept. 28, 1951. At an early age, she united with the Free Gift Primitive Baptist Church in Eatonton, where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was secretary of the church, and was a member of the American Legion Post 583.
