Mrs. Louise Brown Bales

Mrs. Bales passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016. 

She was a native of Macon, made her home in Warner Robins for a number of years before she and her late husband, Louis Grady Bales, moved to Lake Sinclair. 

She was a homemaker and was predeceased by her husband and son, Gary Louis Bales.

The funeral service for Mrs. Louise Brown Bales, 89, was conducted Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville. Interment followed in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday, from 1 p.m. until the service hour.

Margaret Marie “Siscole” Cole

Margaret Marie “Siscole” Cole, 77 of Milledgeville, passed away Aug. 4, 2016. 

The deceased was survived by her son, Kenneth W. Cole; grandson, Kenneth W. Cole Jr.; two granddaughters, Sheneka N. Vinson (Brandon) and Stacie R. Allen; four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Olivia, Jay and Bryce; two brothers, Glenwood Cole Sr. and Raymond Cole; five sisters, Brenda Hudson, Barbara Evans, Virginia Ingram, Frances Cole and Maxine Cole-Waller; two aunts, Johnnie Mae Cole-Humphries and Evelyn Cole-Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, surrogate children and special friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Margaret Cole Sr.; her brother, Herman Cole; and two sisters, Helen Cole and Irene Cole.

Mr. Marion Alois Mahs Jr.

Mr. Marion Alois Mahs Jr., 78, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016. 

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Aug.13 at 11 a.m. at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Mahs was a native of Atlanta and moved from Conyers in 1998, where he made his home on Lake Sinclair. 

He served on Main Street Eatonton and enjoyed traveling. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Marion A. Mahs and Thelma Bouchelle Mahs; and a son, Robert Marion Mahs. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Harcros Chemical Company after 49 years.

Jeffrey Lott

Jeffrey B. Lott, 45, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016. 

He was born May 25, 1971 to Jane Whitman Lott of Athens and the late Charles Lott. 

He was a 1990 graduate of Parkview High School and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1994. 

The funeral service was Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West. Interment followed at Oconee Hill Cemetery. 

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Dade Stephens Lott; daughter, Kennedy Grace Lott of Greensboro; brother, Derrick Lott of Loganville; and many other family members and countless friends.

Mrs. Emmie Harper Charping went to be with the Lord on, Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She died at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Charping; her parents, George Irvin Harper and Annie Roberta (Haley) Harper; four sisters, Lucy Massey, Mary Poole, Willie Maude Carnes and Bernice Bryant; and two brothers, Clark Harper and Clarence Harper.

Leroy Jackson

Mr. Leroy Jackson, son of the late Mr. Thomas and Lucille Jackson, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was born May 31, 1948 in Putnam County, and was the family’s fifth child.

At an early age, Mr. Jackson accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of the Jefferson Baptist Church in Eatonton.

He was a graduate of Butler Baker High School class of 1967. In addition, he attended Jackson Business College, and later served in the United States Army as a clerk/typist from May 9, 1969 until December 1973.

After returning from the service, he was employed by the federal government with the Internal Revenue Service. 

Mr. Jackson was a devoted worker who was also smart, very kind, humble and generous.

The funeral service for Mr. Robert William Hogan, 69 will be conducted Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church at Lake Oconee with the Rev. Jay Thompson and the Rev. Joe Hughes officiating.

The family will be at the church to receive friends on Saturday from noon until the service hour.

Bob Hogan was a native of Pompano Beach, Fla. who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was drafted between semesters while attending the University of Florida. He was an avid Gators fan.

Mr. Norman Crossley “Gus” Robertson, 78, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. The service will be private.

Mr. Robertson was a residential construction contractor and the owner of Quality Homes by Robertson Inc.

He was born in Lithonia, lived at Lake Oconee after moving from Rockdale County. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

Mr. Robertson is preceded in death by his parents, Augustus Lamar Robertson and Cora Ruth McDearis Robertson.

Mr. Rufus (The Chief) Sanders Jr., son of the late Rufus and Sarah Bell Sanders, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton. He was born April 20, 1941 in Shady Dale.

Mr. Sanders was a member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Eatonton, where he served on the Deacon Board. In addition, he was an original member of the Rising Sun Gospel Group. 

Mr. Sanders attended the Jasper County Schools and was retired from the Georgia Power Company.

Richard Molden Tillman

Richard Molden Tillman, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Molden Tillman was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro.

His parents were the late Luther Marshall Tillman and Estelle Jackson Tillman. He was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Molden Tillman owned and operated Tillman’s BBQ along with his late wife, Emmie Lula “Lou” Hunnicutt Tillman, who passed away two months ago. Prior to owning the barbecue restaurant, he operated a welding company making trailers. He also worked for several mining corporations.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Steven Allen Hammond; and brother, Gene Tillman.
