May 18, 1948 - July 3, 2017
Patricia (Pat) Marie Paul Brown Lanphier, age 69 of Eatonton passed away Sunday July 3, 2017 after losing her courageous fight against lung cancer.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. Plan to meet at the funeral home in Milledgeville at 1:45.

Toni Senatro Davis
Mrs. Toni Senatro Davis, age 63, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Eatonton Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Davis was born May 3, 1954 in Hartford, CT to the late Anthony Senatro and the late Faye Glick Senatro. She was a retired schoolteacher amd worked for the Thomaston School System. She served as President for the Business and Professional Women. She led several cancer survivor groups and served as an Elder at Eatonton Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Davis was most proud to be a wife of 38 years and a mother of two.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Davis of Eatonton; two sons, Taylor Austin Davis of Covington, and Thomas and Valerie Davis of Johnson City, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Eatonton Presbyterian Church or to The American Cancer Society.

James Russell Jones
July 25, 1933 - June 19, 2017
James Russell Jones, age 83, passed away June 19, 2017 at Pruitt Health Care in Covington after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 24, 2017 with burial following in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jones was born in Putnam County July 25, 1933 to the late James Thomas Jones and Loy Elise Fuller Jones. He was a lifetime member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and was a truck driver for Chambers Oil Company for almost 40 years. After retiring from Chambers Oil, he was a driver for Embry Farms. He also served in the National Guard. Although his health steadily declined, his spirit, bright smile and faith remained constant. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family.

Grace King Childs

Grace King Childs, age 73 passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017.
Graveside services were Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Bonaire Community Cemetery with the Reverend Karen Compton officiating.
Mrs. Childs was born December 26, 1943 to the late Renfroe King and the late Sara Howard in Byron, Georgia. She was a teacher for over forty years, and retired from the Putnam County Board of Education.
Survivors include her children, Derek (Rhonda) Childs of Bonaire and Keely (Michael) Porter of Macon; five grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Victoria, Karli, and Will; one great-granddaughter, Sutton; a very dear friend and long time companion, Raymond Ehlert of Eatonton; a sister, Ellen Smith of Bonaire and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Bonaire United Methodist Church, 144 Elm Street, Bonaire, GA 31005.

James Reynolds Holder, Jr.

Mr. James Reynolds “Bud” Holder, Jr., age 62, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton.
“Bud” was born July 20, 1954 in Eatonton to the late James Reynolds Holder, Sr. and the late Lawrence Elizabeth Reese Holder. He graduated from Gatewood School and attended LPN school in Milledgeville. He served our Country in The United States Navy. “Bud” loved animals, to read, to watch television, and he also loved flowers. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Holder and his brother, Johnny J. “Pete” Holder.
Survivors include four brothers, Bennie F. (Margaret) Holder, Melvin Otis (Jeraldine) Holder, Steve Mack (Glenda) Holder and Mark (Kay) Holder and a sister, Brenda S. Davis.

Nola Marcina Lay Sharp, age 102, of Kingsport, TN, formerly of Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Indian Path Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Funeral services were Monday, June 5, 2017 in Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt and Rev. Mitch Russell officiating and musicians Garry Stewart, Jimmie Self and Teresa Phillips. Graveside services were at Highland Memorial Gardens in Williamsburg, Kentucky with the Rev. Bruce Dixon.
Pallbearers were Jerry Sharp, Brad Sharp, Josh Sharp, Todd Hamilton, Will Hamilton and Wayne Sharp. Honorary bearers were George Johnson, Joe Eaton, Walter Cline, Josh Cline, Troy Alley, Harold Lawson, Johnny Stanfill and J.W. Branam.

Helen Green
Mrs. Helen Mary Ann Krucky Green passed away May 19, 2017.
Memorial services were Thursday, May 25, 2017 in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Father David Probst officiating.
Mrs. Green was a native of Wisconsin but had made her home on Lake Sinclair since 1990. She was the daughter of the late Anton and Anna Dvorak Krucky and was preceded in death by a grandson, Sam Schmid; her husband, Ralph Thomas Green and all of her siblings. She did volunteer work most of her life and was an avid baker and phenomenal cook. She won many awards for her apple strudel, almond cookies, and sour cream cheese tort.
Mrs. Green acquired much of her culinary skills through helping her mother who was of Slovenian descent. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Milledgeville.

Louise Selph
Mrs. Louise Toberlin Selph, age 91, of Vidalia, formerly of Lake Sinclair, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2017 at Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. LaDon Connell and Rev. Ronnie Moore officiating. Interment followed in Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Gladden, Tony Mullis, Tommy Kilgore, Eric Selph, Robert Tomberlin and Lans Chase. Doreen Horne was the musician for the funeral service.

Scott Bruce
Mr. Edward Scott Bruce, 51, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1 PM at the family residence, 214 Scuffleboro Road in Eatonton.
Mr. Bruce was a native of Augusta and lived in Gwinnett County before moving to Putnam County five years ago. He was the son of the late Edward Bruce and Katherine Slappley Welch and was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Bruce. He was superintendent of Construction for Hansel & Grainger, LLC.
Survivors include his wife, Mary India Templeton Bruce; a son, Zachary (Lisa) Driver; five grandchildren, Angie, Matt, Ryan, Khristie, and Morgan; a great-grandchild, Brady; a sister, Meg Welch and two brothers, Monty Welch and Jon Welch.
Flowers accepted and for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Christopher Carter
February 2, 1970 - April 26, 2017
Christopher Carter, age 47, of Eatonton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday April 26, 2017.
Funeral services were private.
Chris was born in Eatonton February 2, 1970 to the late Charles Robert Carter and Mary Carolyn Dennis Carter. He has lived in Eatonton for all of his life, and graduated from Putnam County High School in 1988 as an honor student. He ran track, was a member of the Beta Club and was listed in the Who’s Who of High School Students, and also did weight training. Chris received a B.S. in Biology from Georgia College and State University.
Survivors include two sisters, Linda Rogers (Ernest), Donna Fahey (Michael); a brother, Charles Carter (Suzette), all of Eatonton; his aunts, Glenda Carter and Helen Gregory, all of Eatonton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association.
