Charlie Knowles
August 5, 1931 - September 3, 2017
Mrs. Charlie Knowles entered the nearer presence of God Sunday, September 3, 2017, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Knowles, born Charlie Mae Cammack in Soperton August 5, 1931 lived most of her life in Macon, before moving to Putnam County in 2001. She married Pat Knowles, the beautiful gift of a second marriage, following her forty-five years of marriage to O. H. Poole, who died in 1994.  “Miss Charlie,” as she was known by many, was a faithful member of Log Cabin Baptist Church in Macon for many years and, for the past fifteen years, of Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton.  A loyal volunteer at Putnam General Hospital for the past decade, “Pa,” as her grandchildren named and called her, lifted the lives of many people in many places with her gentle and joyful words and ways. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Effie Cammack, her infant twin brother, and her son-in-law, Ron Michael.

William Alvin Cargile

William Alvin Cargile, age 68 of Godfrey, died August 10, 2017.
Funeral services were Monday, August 14, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
Billy Cargile was born January 2, 1949 in Madison to Buck and Ruth Hawkins Cargile. He was married to Josephine and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. Mr. Cargile then spent his career working for AT&T. After retirement, he has stayed busy as a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed HAM radio and was a member of the Piedmont Amateur Radio Emergency Service. Mr. Cargile was a member of Godfrey Methodist Church. He enjoyed water and snow skiing and watching Nascar.

Michael Pittman Burdette
Mr. Michael Pittman Burdette passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side Saturday, August 19, 2017.
A celebration of his life was held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville.
Mr. Burdette was a native of Athens, growing up there before moving to Snellville, where he spent most of his adult life. He worked with building materials sales. He had made his home in Eatonton for the past 14 years on Lake Sinclair. Mr. Burdette was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and was predeceased by his wife, Janet Lynn Gentry Burdette, and his parents, Milton and Marcelle Benton Burdette.
Survivors include his children; Britteny (Corey) Barron of Clarkesville, Courtney (Ken) Welch of Madison, and Patrick (Shannon) Burdette of Woodstock; a brother, Gerry (Deborah) Burdette of Athens; seven grandchildren, Dakota, Caleb and Ansley Barron, Brandon and Matthew Burdette, Kerrigan and Cole Welch.

Cora Lee Allen
November 25, 1942 - August 13, 2017
Cora Lee Allen, age 74 passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton.
Funeral services were Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Ezzard officiating. Interment was in Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello.
Mrs. Allen was born November 25, 1942 in Bryson City, North Carolina to Loyd and Lena Cordela Mason Styles. Before retirement, she was a seamstress at the Perky Cap Company. She enjoyed needlepoint, cooking and baking, and she particularly enjoyed the intricate designs of adult coloring books. Her greatest joys were her grandson and her cat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clenton Allen and a brother, James Otis Styles.
Survivors include a son, David Clinton Allen; a grandson, Clinton Wayne Allen and a sister, Joyce Velma Styles Huey, all of Eatonton.

Robert Bedgood
Robert Bedgood, age 74 passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017.
Funeral services were Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Eatonton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Bedgood was a native of Macon, but had made his home on Lake Sinclair. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and retired as a Captain with the Georgia Department of Corrections. He taught and coached at Southwest High School, Gatewood, Windsor and John Milledge Academy. Coach Bedgood donated a lot of his time coaching at the Baldwin County Recreation Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wilson and Mildred Fannie Jones Bedgood and a brother, Thomas Elwood Bedgood. He was a member of the Mable White Baptist Church in Macon, but attended Friendship Baptist Church in Eatonton.
Survivors include a son, Robby Bedgood (Angela) of Macon; a daughter, Lindy Sasser (Mike) of Eatonton and eight grandchildren, Rob, Will, Reid, John, Sara, Levi, Wyatt and Naomi.

Mr. Dale Eugene Graves, age 84, of 279 Possum Point Drive, Eatonton, Georgia transitioned to eternal rest Friday, July 28, 2017 at Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A service of love and celebration will be held at 2pm Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Redemption Holiness Tabernacle, 931 North Jefferson Street, Milledgeville, GA with Brother Bobby Colter officiating. Interment will be private.

Mr. Benjamin T. Fleming, age 73, passed away Sunday July 23, 2017. Services will be private.
Mr. Fleming was born July 21, 1943 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania to the late William Fleming and the late Eva Desdlem Fleming. He was a retired Navy Chief and worked as a correctional officer for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Fleming of Eatonton; a brother, Bill (Jean) Fleming of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Karen Urius and stepson, Dean Sasanko of Pennsylvania.

Patricia (Pat) Marie Paul Brown Lanphier, age 69 of Eatonton passed away Sunday July 3, 2017 after losing her courageous fight against lung cancer.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. Plan to meet at the funeral home in Milledgeville at 1:45.

Toni Senatro Davis
Mrs. Toni Senatro Davis, age 63, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Eatonton Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Davis was born May 3, 1954 in Hartford, CT to the late Anthony Senatro and the late Faye Glick Senatro. She was a retired schoolteacher amd worked for the Thomaston School System. She served as President for the Business and Professional Women. She led several cancer survivor groups and served as an Elder at Eatonton Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Davis was most proud to be a wife of 38 years and a mother of two.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Davis of Eatonton; two sons, Taylor Austin Davis of Covington, and Thomas and Valerie Davis of Johnson City, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Eatonton Presbyterian Church or to The American Cancer Society.
