Mr. William Grady Brookshire, 80, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018.
Services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Crossroads Baptist Church.
Mr. Brookshire was born on September 18, 1937, in Ranger, Ga. to the late Wallace Brookshire and the late Sally Hobgood Brookshire. He loved hunting and fishing, training bird dogs and beagles. He also loved gardening and giving things away to others. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace Brookshire, James Brookshire, Arbel Brookshire, Tim Brookshire, and Mack Brookshire; as well as his sister Betty Smith.
Mr. Brookshire is survived by his wife, Deborah Brookshire of Eatonton; daughter, Pamela Borst of Atlanta; sons, Michael Brookshire of Lawrenceville, Bill Brookshire of Grayson, Bart Brookshire of Ocala, FL, and Barry (Gabriella) Brookshire of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Austin Brookshire of Athens, Shawn Brookshire of Grayson, Cory Borst of Athens, Lindsey Borst of Roswell, Ethan Brookshire of Ocala, FL, and Everett Brookshire of Denver, CO; sisters, Debra Tarrant of Collinsville, AL, Hazel (Bobby) Baley of Doraville, and Virginia Smallwood of Ranger; brothers, Wallace Brookshire, Jr. of Ranger, Edward Brookshire of Ranger, Ray Brookshire of Ranger, and Marvin (Linda) Brookshire of Calhoun.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Brookshire's memory to the building fund of Crossroads Baptist Church or to Alzheimer Research.

Judith Eileen McAnelly Patient
September 7, 1942 - May 18, 2018

Mrs. Judith “Judy” Eileen McAnelly Patient, 75, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 22, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Eatonton. 
Mrs. Judy was born on September 7, 1942, in Decatur, IL: to the late Kenneth McAnelly and the late Agnes Smith McAnelly. Mrs. Judy never met a stranger. Her greatest delight was her husband and family. She loved to quilt blankets for babies and personalize gifts to family members. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eatonton.
Mrs. Patient is survived by her husband, John Patient of Eatonton; daughter, Tanya Dawn Myers of Eatonton; sons, Jody A. Patient of Winston Salem, NC, Erick R. Patient of Deltona, FL, and John R. Patient of Eatonton; sister, Joyce Valentine of Decatur, IL; as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Gary Clifton Blair
August 21, 1936- May 22, 2018

 Gary Clifton Blair, 81, of Macon, passed away peacefully at his residence Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Houston Heights Baptist Church. Pastors Larry Partain and William Black officiated.
Gary was born August 21, 1936, in Eatonton, Ga to the late Paul and Philabel Blair. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, the Korean Conflict. Gary was honorably discharged in 1956 and later he began his lifelong career at Robins Air Force base as a Machinist. In 1962, Gary married the love of his life Betty M. McCannon and together they built a loving home where they raised two children. After retirement from Civil Service, he worked for Sizemore Security. Like the true patriot he was, Gary held Lifetime Memberships at Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Gary had a love for his church, Houston Heights Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his loving wife, Betty Blair; two children, Vikki Brown (Robert) and R. Clifton Blair (Darlene); three grandsons, Colby Brown (Jessica), Josh Birch, and Gary P. Blair; two great-grandchildren; Haleigh Brown and Conner Brown.

Wayne Lamar Nelson
April 26, 1953- May 1, 2018

Mr. Wayne Lamar Nelson departed his life on May 1, 2018, peacefully in the comfort of his daughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones.
Services were Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Union Baptist Church, 
240 MLK Jr. Dr. Eatonton, Ga. Rev. Johnny Harris Sr., Pastor and Elder Jesse Porter, Pastor Emeritus officiated.
Mr. Wayne Lamar Nelson was born April 26, 1953, in Eatonton, Ga. to the parentage of Walter and Willie Kate Nelson. Wayne started his labor at the City of Eatonton where he was employed for many years. Later he was employed with the Putnam County Board of Education and ended his career with the City of Eatonton Gas Department. He graduated from Putnam County High School with the Class of 1971.  He devoted his life to helping others and enjoyed fishing and grilling. He was blessed with a daughter, Shanta Mathis-McWhorter. He was preceded in death by his sister, Edna D. Nelson, brother, Danny D. Nelson and brother-in-law, Read L. Cobb.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, Walter and Willie Kate Nelson; one daughter, Shanta Mathis-McWhorter (Ronald); two brothers, Jerry Nelson (Rosemary) and Terrence Nelson (Abigail); four sisters, Barbara Walton, Velma Cobb, Frankie Clemons (Grady) and Yolanda Nelson; grandchildren, Kirsten Reese and Kursten Aiken; aunt; Mary Wade; Uncle, Robert Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
