Donna Delanie Hooper Beery
Mrs. Donna Delanie Hooper Beery, age 70, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Crooked Creek Community Center.Mrs. Beery is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Parlier Dix and father, James Clare Hooper. She was born in East Point, GA and lived in Eatonton for many years before moving to Milledgeville seven years ago.
Mrs. Beery is survived by her daughter, Jerrie Morgan of Morrow; grandson, K.C. Morgan of Buckhead; sisters, Sandra Gann of Eatonton and Diana (Charles) Cheeks of Hepzibah; nieces, Annette (Ricky) LeBlanc of Eatonton, River Cheeks of Hepzibah; nephews, James Lee Gann of Eatonton and Mark Reeves of Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Russell Watson Chapman
Russell W. Chapman, age 80, of Eatonton, Georgia passed away at his home on Sunday, February 4, 2018 after a short illness.
Russell was born in Crawfordville, Georgia on September 25, 1937. He was the third of four sons born to the late Samuel W. Chapman and Reba Louise (Morrow) Chapman.
Russell served honorably in the United States Air Force for four years as a Bombing & Gunnery Specialist. After service he was a carpenter by trade and worked as an independent contractor as well as on massive structures such as the power generator plant towers in Georgia. He also had a workshop at his home where he produced mobile buildings, children's playhouses and other smaller structures for sale. He was a very dedicated worker and continued to work even after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. In addition to his work career he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Brother David -at birth, Franklin-2015 (Diana), son Clayton (1986). He is survived by his dedicated wife Barbara, son David (Angie), daughters LaTan McIntire (Kenny), Monica Olivarez-Clemons (David), grandchildren Tony Chapman, Cory Silvernail, Layna Prince, Bryanna Prince, Dillon Prince, Ava Clemons and Creed Clemons, Allison Knight & Ray Crowe. He is also survived by a brother Sam (Juanita).
The family met at Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 6 PM until 7 PM. A service followed at 7 PM.

Donnie E. Hodges
Donnie E. Hodges 66, passed away February 1, 2018 at Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Memorial services were held at Goshen Road Baptist Church on Sunday, February 4, 2018 with Rev. Corey Moore officiating.
Mr. Donnie Hodges was a member of Goshen Road Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge 440 F&AM. Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. Among his other interests were riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, telling stories, living on his Ebenezer Creek property and nurturing dogs and various other animals. Mr. Hodges got great pleasure from singing and playing the guitar; he became somewhat of a well-known musician. No one loved life or enjoyed the outdoors more than Donnie. He was a wonderful husband, father, and brother. His priority of life was his family. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Euless and Rita Hodges; and his brother, Rev. Frankie Hodges.
Survivors include wife Brenda; three sons, James Gladin, Jr. (Diane) of Rincon, Dennis Exley of Rincon, Patrick Exley (Kelly) of Atlanta; one daughter, Katrina Laygo of Savannah; three brothers, Ronnie Hodges (Peggy) of Putnam County, Wayne Hodges (Jill) of Guyton and Gary Hodges (Cathy) of Guyton; two sisters, Anita Kessler (Ray) of Guyton and Nancy Cubbedge of Rincon; a number of grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made in memory of Donnie E. Hodges to the Goshen Road Baptist Church Fund.

Larry Neal Horne
April 19, 1941- January 31, 2018 Larry Horne age 76 of Eatonton passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service immediately followed at the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Larry was laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military and Masonic honors.
Larry was born on April 19, 1941, in Macon, Georgia. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before beginning his career in civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Larry was a Mason, a member of the Warner Robins Jaycees, and a judge for the Miss America preliminary pageants. He selflessly volunteered his time to the community and was recognized as 'Volunteer of the Year' for Warner Robins. His parents preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila Woodall Horne; two daughters, Lisa Oneia Horne of Gray and Lori Leigh Horne Wooley (Kelby) of Augusta;
three grandchildren, Alexis Horne-Kitchens, Ashton Banguilan, and Landon Banguilan; mother-in-law, Doris P. Woodall; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins; and his special companion, “Baby”.

Lee Roy Stapp
Mr. Stapp, age 78, passed away February 3, 2018.
Funeral services for Mr. Stapp were conducted Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Milledgeville. Entombment followed in Heritage Memorial Park.
Mr. Stapp was a native of Morgan County and had made his home in Putnam County for a number of years before moving to Milledgeville where he had lived for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, a member of the Benevolent Lodge # 3 Free and Accepted Masons, The York Rite Body, The Al Shiah Shrine, Eastern Star, American Legion, Oconee Elks Lodge and the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Stapp was predeceased by his parents, George Warren Stapp and Rosa Lee Taylor Stapp; sister, Hazel Campbell; brothers, William Thomas Stapp, Lester Lee Stapp and George Raymond Stapp.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Braxley Stapp of Milledgeville; four sons, Lee Roy Stapp, Jr. (Brandi), Morgan Stapp (Luann), Eric Stapp, (Christi), and Warren Stapp all of Eatonton; two daughters, Melissa Clark and Bonnie Murphey of Cordele; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
