Obituaries for Oct. 19, 2017

Sean Anthony Brown
September 21, 1969 - October 6, 2017
Sean Anthony Brown died Friday, October 6, 2017. Heaven has gained an angel, as Sean Anthony Brown entered the gates of his Heavenly home.
Funeral services were Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Harmony Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Sean was born September 21, 1969 in Alabama to Sandra and Michael Brown. He made Eatonton his home 13 years ago when he married Gay Lankford. They built a log cabin and shared their home with their nephew, Hunter Lankford, three dogs and a cat. He was always up to shenanigans involving one crazy idea after the other - and some of them worked! He was a great storyteller and his laugh was infectious. Sean always had a smile on his face. He lived life his way, and didn’t apologize for it. It was both admirable and sometimes infuriating. Strangers quickly became friends and friends quickly became family. From the old neighborhood, to extended and blended, all were loved. He would get up at midnight to change a tire or give you a ride. There wasn’t anything Sean couldn’t fix, and he had an answer for almost any problem. He was the guy you called. Sean loved his job as a Crane Technician and he was good at it. He was never on time, but “when you know what Sean knows, you can be a little late.” It helps that they padded his appointments. Sean had a fascination for airplanes and spent a lot of his free time working and playing around with his two planes. He was a very hard worker, a good mentor and a great friend. Most of all, Sean loved his family and all those he called family. He was a father to all who needed one, a brother to all he met, and the most kindhearted, genuine person who will be forever missed by all who knew him. To know Sean was to love him. Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Gay Lankford; a daughter, Emily Brown of TN; a son, Tyler (Brittney) Brown of Augusta; his father, Michael Brown of AL; four sisters, Mindy Wyatt of AL, Michelle Brown of ID, Bonnie McClain and Lydia McClain of WA; a step-daughter, Katie (Marvin) Corty and their son, Landon of Newnan; a sister-in-law, Cathy Lankford Harwood; two brother-in-laws, Darrell Harwood and Michael Lankford; a mother-in-law, Virginia Lankford; four nephews, Hunter Lankford, Clay Wyatt, Scott McClain, Morgan McClain and two nieces, Maddie Lankford and Heather Wyatt.
Sean, you have earned your wings. Go enjoy Heaven and sit at the Master’s feet. Play in the clouds. And we will all play together in the River Jordan before long. In the meantime, FLY HIGH.
