Charlie Knowles
August 5, 1931 - September 3, 2017
Mrs. Charlie Knowles entered the nearer presence of God Sunday, September 3, 2017, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Knowles, born Charlie Mae Cammack in Soperton August 5, 1931 lived most of her life in Macon, before moving to Putnam County in 2001. She married Pat Knowles, the beautiful gift of a second marriage, following her forty-five years of marriage to O. H. Poole, who died in 1994.  “Miss Charlie,” as she was known by many, was a faithful member of Log Cabin Baptist Church in Macon for many years and, for the past fifteen years, of Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton.  A loyal volunteer at Putnam General Hospital for the past decade, “Pa,” as her grandchildren named and called her, lifted the lives of many people in many places with her gentle and joyful words and ways. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Effie Cammack, her infant twin brother, and her son-in-law, Ron Michael.
Survivors include a sister, Nelle Shepard; a brother, Donald Cammack;  a daughter, Rhonda Poole Michael; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Marcia Poole; two step-sons, Billy Knowles and David Knowles; a step-daughter, Libby Knowles; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Chris McLeod, Matthew and Kim Michael, Josh and Bett Poole, and Maria and James Madden and fourteen great-grandchildren. Each marriage and birth redrawing the map of Pa's pride and joy.
Memorial services were Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Crossroads Baptist Church followed by graveside services in Macon Memorial Park in Macon.
The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to the caregivers at Agape Hospice, to Dr. John King, and to the members, and pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church, for their many kindnesses to our family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund, 106 S. Wesley Chapel Road, Eatonton GA  31024.

Harrold Queen
Mr. Harrold Queen, age  77 passed away Friday, September 1, 2017.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Lake Country Baptist Church in Eatonton, with Dr. Carlisle Driggers officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.
Mr. Queen was retired from the United States Military, serving tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was a native of Blairsville, and lived in Jonesboro before moving to Lake Sinclair in 1995. Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his father, Garnett Queen, his mother, Sara Bell (McElreath Queen, a daughter, DeAnne Kerri Queen and his brother, Eugene Queen.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Poteat Queen of Eatonton; a daughter, Debbie Karen Queen (Tim) Chapman of Locust Grove; a son, Terry Keith Queen of Jonesboro; a brother, Henry Queen of Griffin; four grandchildren, Jessica Austin, Ashley McCue, Natalie Chapman and Bonnie Queen; three great-grandchildren, Derek Austin, Autumn McCue and Charlotte McCue.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Lake Country Baptist Church Building Fund, 1259 Crooked Creek Rd., Eatonton GA, 31024.

Margaret Rhodes Winn
Margaret Rhodes Winn, age 71 of Eatonton passed away Monday, August 14, 2017.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11am at The First United Methodist Church, 4741 Carey Station Road, Greensboro with David Key officiating.  A second celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017  at 5pm at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Inc., 310 N Street West in Vidalia, GA.
Mrs. Winn was known to loved ones and friends as Peggy. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She always put everyone else before herself. Peggy was an avid golf and bridge player where she met so many great people she considered extended family.  The love and kindness Peggy shared will always be in the hearts of everyone she touched.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Hewell; her mother, Margaret Rhodes; two daughters, Dana Winn and Christy (Walter) Anthony; a brother, Willliam F. Rhodes and two nieces, Lisa and Whitney.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
