January 20, 1929 - April 10, 2017
Richard Kelly, age 88 of Eatonton passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Vining Ivy Hill with burial in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
Richard was born January 20, 1929 in Petersburg, VA to the late Bert Allen and Maxine Kelly. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was in law enforcement for 52 years, having been a police officer for the Eatonton Police Dept. for ten years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and camping; and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Naomi Kelly; a son, Richard Kelly (Alicia) of Newnan; two daughters, Michele Merritt (Ken Taylor) of McDonough, and Janet Fugett of Athens; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), P.O. Box 1237, Gray, GA 31032.

Emily Frances Poole
November 8, 1923 - April 11th, 2017
Mrs. Emily Frances Poole departed this world Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 at the home of Debbie and Richard Huff.
Memorial services were Friday, April 14, 2017 at Eatonton Presbyterian Church.
One of 13 children, Frances was born to John and Emily Smith Poole November 8, 1923. She was known by her church members as “Sister Frances”, but those closest to her as “Fannie”. She graduated from Eatonton High School in 1941. After graduating, she took a business class and worked for J.H. Cardwell & Sons Contractors for over 20 years. She also worked for the Putnam County 4-H Extension Office for 30 years until her retirement. She was a faithful servant of Eatonton Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She also prepared the Sunday Bulletin for 34 years.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Key.
Survivors include 13 nieces and nephews; 23 great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Robert Frank Thompkins Jr.
April 21, 1960 - April 3, 2017
Robert Frank Thompkins Jr. passed away April 3, 2017 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Robert transitioned peacefully while being comforted in his mother's loving arms. His sisters, Diane and Darlene, and his niece, Porsha and nephew, Hosea III were also at his bedside.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 15, 2017 at The Plaza Arts Center Auditorium in Eatonton with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Horton officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Eastside Eatonton City Cemetery.
Robert was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey April 21, 1960. He graduated from Putnam County High School in 1978 and served in The United States Army and Army National Guard in which he received an honorable discharge. Afterwards, he attended Central Georgia Technical College where he received a diploma and was certified in Advance Air Conditioning Technology in 1990. Robert Jr. worked various jobs while continuing to advance in his field. He worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections as a maintenance engineer prior to starting his own business, 24/7 Master Maintenance, doing what he loved best.
Survivors include his father, Robert Frank Thompkins Sr. of Perry; his mother, Mrs. Iona Thompkins-Sims and stepfather, Phillip Matthew Sims of Atlanta; his wife, Leevoarn Thompkins and their son, Bryceston Lance Thompkins; his children, Antoine Thompkins of Buford, Shaneka and Tynisha Thompkins of Atlanta, Racio Thompkins, Jordan Dennis, Khalilah, Rodrigus and Natalia Steele all of Milledgeville; his grandchildren; two sisters, Elder Diane T. Williams and Darlene Harrington; two nieces, Porsha Dyanne Williams and Storm Lin-Zey Harrington; a nephew, Hosea L. Williams III, all of Atlanta; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Clifford Lee Wheeler
Clifford Lee Wheeler, age 78, of Eatonton passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Northridge Christian Church, 321 Log Cabin Rd NE, Milledgeville.
Mr. Wheeler was born and raised in Atlanta, and was the son of the late Clifford and Katie Wheeler. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker and member of Local Union 85. This trade, along with his passion for hunting and fishing was passed on to his sons and grandsons. He was also a small business owner of a boat dealership in Pine Lake, GA and later worked for Putnam County for 15 years. Mr. Wheeler adored his family and was a genuine and kind man who forged lifetime friendships. He was beloved by many people in his community.
Survivors include his bride of 58 years, Patsy Sue Wheeler of Eatonton; two sons, Rodney Stephen Wheeler (Sheryl) and Lance Lee Wheeler (Sheila) of Eatonton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
