Shooting wounds man in Eatonton
Eatonton Police officers and investigators, along with special agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were continuing late Friday night, Feb. 3, to investigate the shooting of a young local man in the Montgomery Homes neighborhood. The shooting took place shortly after 6 p.m., a resident of the neighborhood told The Eatonton Messenger. The victim, whose name has not been revealed by authorities, was flown by helicopter to The Medical Center of Navicent Health in Macon, according to Police Chief Kent Lawrence. Lawrence said Eatonton residents do not need to worry about their safety. "I can tell you there is no shooter running around Eatonton tonight," he said.
