Tullie Lee Martin Jr., 78, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017.

The funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Portwood officiating. Burial followed in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Martin was born in Bibb County and lived in Wilkinson County and Putnam County before making his home in Milledgeville.

He worked at Central State Hospital and retired as supervisor of the motor garage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tullie Lee Martin and Mozell Martin; and a son, Lin Martin. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Lauber Martin of Milledgeville; two sons, Lee Martin (Judy) of Milledgeville and Les Martin (Rachael) of Marietta; two daughters, Lisa Cowan (Robert) and Scarlett Goddard (Nick) of Eatonton; a step-son, Mike Hawkins of Milledgeville; a step-daughter, Carolyn Grant (Jeff) of Shelby, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Penny Martin of Valdosta; a sister, Laverne Day of Gordon; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Sallie Mae Walton
March 1, 1934-Dec. 24, 2016
Sallie Mae Walton of 496 Angier Avenue NE, Atlanta, formerly of Eatonton, transitioned to eternal life on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at her residence.
The funeral service was Saturday. Jan. 7 at Jefferson Baptist Church in Eatonton with the Rev. Rodrick Bradford, pastor, officiating and the Rev. W.J. Reid presented the eulogy. Burial followed in Jefferson Baptist Church cemetery.
Sallie Mae Walton was born March 1, 1934 in Buckhead, to the late Rev. Charlie Lee Walton and Mary Lamar Walton.

She attended Jefferson School and Eatonton High School.

At an early age, she joined Jefferson Baptist Church. Sallie Mae worked more than 10 years at Rock Eagle 4H Club of Eatonton and later retired from GiGi's Pizza in Atlanta.

She enjoyed being around friends and family, playing the lottery and listening to music. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evia Julia McCloud and Dorothy Virginia Hill; and five brothers, Charlie Walton Jr., Willie James Walton, Alex Milton Walton, Larry Eugene Walton and Jack Wright.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, LaTroy Woodard; a devoted niece, Pamela Smith, whom she considered a daughter; three sons, Curtis Walton, Voltaire "Taboo" Walton and Don Walton, all residing in Atlanta; her sisters and brothers, Marie Griffin, Dennie B. Walton, Ralph H. Walton and Ernest Lee Walton, all of Eatonton, Harry E. Walton (Doris) of Atlanta, a devoted cousin, Leila Kearson of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren, Latisha Hicks (Mansfield) of Decatur, Voltaire Walton of Ellenwood, Elijah and Evan Walton of Washington, D.C; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and family.
