According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a man shot an intruder at a Reynolds, Lake Oconee address on Tuesday morning. The sheriff’s office has asked the GBI investigate a death that occurred at 1090 Jones Bluff Court, Greensboro. According to the GBI, preliminary information indicates that at approximately 6:34 a.m., a resident called 911 to report he had shot an intruder in his home. Upon the arrival of Greene County deputies, a male subject was found in the basement of the residence deceased by what appears to be the result of gunshot trauma. The man who shot him was transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident. According to Greene County Sheriff Donnie Harrison, the victim of the shooting and the man who shot him are not local residents. Harrison said the GBI and his office working to identify the victim so his next of kin can be notified before the name will be released. The deceased male will be transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur for autopsy. This joint investigation is active, ongoing and being conducted by the GBI and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
