From Putnam County Charter School System:

We have been closely monitoring coronavirus (COVID-19) with guidance from the CDC, Georgia Department of Public Health, Putnam County Health Department, and the Georgia Department of Education. As the situation continues to change rapidly, our top priority remains the health and well-being of our students and staff as well as our community.

Governor Brian Kemp gave local school systems the ability to close school for up to two weeks to limit the spread of this virus. While there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Putnam County, in the greater interest of public health, PCCSS will be using Online / Distance Learning (students will not report to school) for the week of March 16th -20th. Teachers and staff will report Monday, March 16 at 8 a.m. We will re-evaluate next Thursday, March 19th, and determine if continued Online / Distance Learning is needed. During this week, there will be no extracurricular activities, sports, school events, or field trips. As additional information and guidance is provided, updates will be shared.

Our schools and buses will continue to be cleaned and disinfected using COVID-19 approved cleaners.

Your child(ren)’s teachers and principals will be sending out information regarding Online / Distance Learning. Information about COVID-19 will continue to be posted at

We appreciate our community’s continued support. Please take the necessary precautions to keep yourself, your families, and the broader community safe.
