Johnnie Mae Solomon, 79, of 115 Hillside Drive Eatonton, GA departed this life Thursday March 21, 2019 at Lynn Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gray, GA.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 29 2019 at White Chapel A.M.E. Church, 2370 Old Highway 11, Round Oak, GA; Rev. L. Mills, Pastor, Rev. Edward Arnold, Officiated. Burial followed the service at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Haddock, GA.
Johnnie Mae Johnson (Solomon) was born to the late Alma and Johnny Johnson on February 12, 1940, in Jones County, GA. On October 19, 1957, Johnnie Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Robert L. Solomon, and to their union, five children were born. Johnnie Mae worked for many years for various companies, including Enterprise Aluminum, Rock Eagle, Eatonton Sewing Plant, Perky Cap of Eatonton and Emory Hospital until she medically retired. Her interests included family, crocheting patterns, crossword puzzles, fishing and being a wonderful mother until she passed away. She is preceded in death by: sister, Betty Jean, and brother, Thomas Johnson.
Johnnie Mae is survived by her husband, Robert Solomon of Gray, GA; five children, Robert Solomon, Jr., (Helen) of Atlanta, GA, Richard Solomon (Diane) of Eatonton, GA, Clayton Solomon of Atlanta, GA, Clinton Solomon (Bridgette) of Eatonton, GA, Angela Smith (Harold) of Eatonton, GA; her sisters, Bertha Vinson (Johnny) of Conyers, GA, Shirley Risby of Detroit, MI, Julia Johnson of Round Oak, GA, Nellie Johnson of Round Oak, GA; her brothers, Elder Joseph Johnson (Merritt) of Macon, GA, Marvin Johnson of Gray, GA, Christopher Johnson of Macon, GA, Early Johnson (Eulady) of Monticello, GA; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
