Azariah Chester, Martia Brown and Ma’Kayla Tolbert do their part in Greene County Elementary School’s Black History program. Part I of the Black History program was Friday to commemorate the end of Black History Month. Part II of the program is slated for April. In additions to songs, students performed skits and did impersonations of famous blacks, that included several Michael Jacksons, a Beyonce and the Temptations.

A two-day blues festivalat the Madison Morgan Cultural Center begins with a performance by guitarist Habib Koite at 8 p.m. today (Friday, March 5). The festival concludes with a concert by blues and gospel singer Francine Reed at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at MMCC. Tickets are $35 for MMCC members, $25 for students and $50 for non-members.
